AOUDAD SHEEP HUNTING

AOUDAD SHEEP OUTFITTER

The Aoudad or Barbary sheep is found in arid mountainous areas and grasslands. They love rough steep terrain, which makes hunting them challenging!

Aoudad sheep can weigh more than 300 pounds. They are light brown in color with a lighter color to their undersides. Aoudad sheep also have a darker line down their back. The Aoudad’s horns are smooth and triangular in shape; curve outward, backward then inwards again. Their horns can grow more than 18 inches. They have longer shaggy hair at their throat, neck and chest areas and males have a little bit of a mane.

Aoudads are active in the early morning and again at dusk. They tend to live in small families and males will compete for breeding rites. Females produce usually one or two lambs in the spring.
